ULMA Construction families: Family Browser/Searcher (Browser)

GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS

The families are inserted using the [Browser]. This button opens the ULMA Construction family library, where all the family resources are located.

The browser is divided in different folders. This differentiation is based on:

• The browser is divided by systems:
  • AND/SCF: Scaffolding
  • COM: Common elements
  • EHL/LHF: Lightweight Horizontal Formwork
  • EHP/HHF: Heavy Horizontal Formwork
  • EV/VF: Vertical Formwork
  • STR/CLS: Climbing Systems

• Inside each system there are products that are specific to the system type, for example in vertical formwork:
  • COMAIN
  • ENKOFORM VMK
  • LGR
  • LGW
  • ORMA
  • ORMA P-A

• Inside each folder there are three type of families (explained in more detail in the ULMA Construction Families section):
  • SETs: This type of family can be differentiated by the hashtag at the beginning of the name.
  • Dynamic families: this type of family can be  differentiated by the last part of the name, which “DYN”
  • Unitary families

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING

• Load a family into a Revit Project. There are two ways to load a family:
  • Double-click on it.
  • Drag&Drop into the project. 

•  Filter the displayed family list. Filters can be used to show only families of a certain type:
  • Assemblies: SET.
  • Dynamic (multicode): Dyn.
  • Unitary (articles): Unit.

ACCESS TO FAVORITE FAMILIES

The user must click on the [Favourite] button to use the favourite family list:

Right clicking on any family will display the following options:

• Add to favorites.
• Remove from favorites.

FAMILY SEARCH TOOL

Type a text and click on the [Search] button to find all the families that contain that text:

LOAD ALL THE FAMILIES OF A GROUP

Click on the [Load group] button to load into the project all the families belonging to the displayed group:

SHOW SETS BIG IMAGE OR HELP DOCUMENT

Right-click on any family that is a SET to show the corresponding BIG image or help document:
