There are three types of families:
- Unitary families
- Dynamic families
- SETs (group of families)
All of them have parameters that can be used to change their properties or configurations.
PARAMETERS
The user will be able to edit some parameters, but not others:
EDITABLE PARAMETERS
- General editable parameters: The ULMA construction families usually include several parameters that allow the user to adjust the properties of the item, such as LENGTH, WIDTH, HEIGHT, ANGLE, STANDARD, etc.
- Specific editable parameters: Certain parameters are specific to the corresponding use of the family or system. Examples of these parameters include CHANGE INSERTION POINT, DOUBLE TUBE, LIFTING, FIXED CLAMP, etc.
- Other parameters: Some parameters do not need to be filled as they will be automatically filled by the tool:
The [Codify] button fills the following parameters´ values:
ITEM_CODE ITEM_WEIGHT ITEM_DESCRIPTION ITEM_FORM_AREA ITEM_QUANTITY ITEM_GENERIC_UNIT WEIGHT |

- Grafsystem to Revit tool can fill the following parameters´ values:
CONDITION
ITEM_TYPE
SIMULATION
PRODUCT ZONE
- Grafsystem to Revit tool can fill the following parameters´ values:
NON EDITABLE PARAMETERS
The purpose of these parameters is to establish standard measurements for families. They are typically linked to editable parameters through formulas within the family. Examples of these parameters include ITEM_LENGHT, ITEM_HEIGHT, ITEM_WIDTH, SET_LENGTH, SET_HEIGHT, SET_WIDTH, etc.
The user will input the information in the editable parameters (in this case “LENGTH, HEIGHT, WIDTH” parameters), and based on those dimensions, the “ITEM_.... “ parameters will be filled with the corresponding standardized measures for their respective families.
These parameters are locked and will appear in grey, since they are mostly informative, so that the user knows the real dimensions of the family.
In the case of SETs, most will have a HELP document describing all the parameters and dynamism options.
This HELP documents will be located, inside of the BROWSER, when selecting the SET that the user is interested in, and clicking with the right button, will appear some options, and one of them will be: “Show help document”.
This will open a PDF with all the information about the selected SET. This sheet explains both the insertion point, as well as the editable parameters and how to use them.
- When using SETs, it is easier if the user inserts the values before inserting the SET into the project. First, the user loads the SET into the project, and previous to inserting it at the point where the user needs it, the user will apply the changes or modifications that the SET needs to personalise it as desired.
- The measures that the families will have will be the standard ones. For example, if the length of a family changes, it will change according to the standard measures, not the ones that the user wants.
- In the case of SETs, if the user needs to modify the SET with a non-standard measure, it can use the [Explode] button to explode the SET and have all the inside families of the SET individually.
