The Maintain View Filter is a tool for managing filter visibility. It allows the user to choose which filters appear in each view without having to apply this task to each view individually.
STEPS TO USE
SELECT VIEW
In this window, the user has to select the view where changes will be applied.
The view name will be based on the project browser organization.
Only one view can be selected at a time.
ENABLE/DISABLE FILTER VISIBILITY
This window displays all filters that exist in the selected view. (The order in which the filters appear is the order of their creation, not the order in which they appear in the view).
Besides the window, there are other buttons:
- Up/Down: These buttons serve to move the filters in the list. (Especially useful since the filters order sets the priority in Revit)
- Shift: This button is used to select more than one filter, without having to select each filter one by one. As if it was the real shift button.
- Enable all / Disable all: These buttons serve to enable and disable all the filters, modifying the visibility.
ENABLE/DISABLE FILTER ACTIVE
After selecting the view, a window will appear displaying all the filters currently existing in the selected view.
- Enable all / Disable all: These buttons serve to enable and disable all the filters, modifying the filters to be enabled or disabled in the view.
Both windows will have three buttons:
- Ordered: When the filter list appears, the order is the order that Revit automatically applies. This button will order the filters alphabetically.
- Apply Order: This button applies to the view all the changes made by the other buttons. It is designed to apply the changes in the selected view.
- Apply to: This button applies the changes indicated in the filters. There will be some options:
- Both: The visibility and enable/disable filters are applied to the filters.
- Visibility: Only visibility changes will be applied to the view.
- Filter enabled: There will only be applied the enable/disable filter changes in the views.
- This button allows the users to select or find the filters they have created and inserted in a view, without having to open the entire view to find them.
- The user can select the desired view in the “Select view” window and quickly find the necessary filters as they appear in the “Select filters from the view” window.
